"The best thing anyone can do for you are the things you never have to ask them"

I read this quote online and I was trying to think of a way to express gratitude and respect for Valeisha. I've been a student of her craft and work etiquette over the years. I read, recommended and wrote about Valeisha's book The GirlPrint on my book/literature blog "Brains & Beauty". You can read about it in the link provided here: http://brainsnbeautyblog.blogspot.com/2018/08/the-girlprint.html

That post was written in 2018. I described Valeisha as an architect and she still is. All of my blogs were created with a purpose, a guide to elevate others. I believe everyone plays a part of a blueprint or map there are many essential parts that help connect in some form. There's a quote "when the student is ready the teacher appears". Timing is a blessing. During this pandemic I must say that I have learned and still learning some empowering and inspiring lessons from Valeisha. Her integrity and consistency is admirable. I consider her my silent mentor uplifting and practical. To align with the quote "The best thing anyone can do for you are the things you never have to ask them" is true and demonstrated through her actions, what she does for others embracing good vibes! Thank you for all you do Valeisha!

I would like to congratulate Valeisha as The Recording Academy's First Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. Well deserved and an inspiration for women!

There's a quote that stood out from a Rolling Stone article regarding the announcement:

“The things that impressed me weren’t so much the exact specifics of what she thought the Academy needed, but also her philosophical approach in the way she looked at things and problem solved along with her energy and attitude on being proactive,” Mason Jr. says. “She’s willing to get her hands dirty and jump right in. She has an approach of getting things done and winning, and I gravitated towards that.”

It's only right that I tell my story, my truth about my own Domestic Violence experience. It's hypercritical to an extent because I stayed in the relationship after the incident. I encourage others not to make the mistake I made. If you can get out make an exit. My gift is to serve with a purpose and help others.I am here to send a positive message to go where you're accepted not tolerated. My story can help you help someone else. On the evening of August 27,2015 I was attacked by my ex boyfriend. I was feeling overwhelmed at his house because of some information he mentioned to me. It made me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to leave. He got upset that I wanted to leave. I told him he didn't care. He slapped me in the face with the remote control.I cleaned up in the bathroom & he came and got me. We laid down back to back to each other. I was upset with him about a text message a girl sent to him. There was verbal abuse for sure. He leaned over and punched me in th
